Instructions: Combine equal parts of coriander, cumin & fennel seeds in an empty tea bag and boil for 5 minutes. Coriander Also known as ‘Dhanyaka’ which means the ‘Home Pitta Pacifier.’ Coriander decreases all three Doshas. It will reduce the heat and acid in the stomach, and relieves upper respiratory (Kapha) congestion. It is a mild diuretic, toxin reducer, and relieves swelling and pain after trauma. The fresh leaves of coriander can be made into a paste for (Pitta) skin lesions.
Cumin In Hindi, called ‘Jeera,’ meaning ‘The Hot Kidney Cleanser,’ has the ability to pacify all dosha types. Cumin has good toxic scraping action and assists the body to absorb the minerals into the intestines. It is well known for its positive effects on digestive health and in both mind and body cleansing. Cumin is good for loss of appetite, vomiting, indigestion, gas abdominal pain and IBS.
Fennel Fennel also known as’ Shatapushpa,’ the ‘Grounded Soother.’ It balances all the doshas and relieves abdominal cramping, spasms and gas. After meals, 1/2 tsp of the seeds can be chewed. Supports healthy menstrual flow and stimulates the appetite. The main uses are for bloating, gas, IBS, malabsorption, indigestion, slow digestion and colic. Fennel aids in a sense of grounding through psychological and spiritual transitions. It will calm the mind and improves clarity of thinking.
